The sequel to the highly successful Stree 2, is finally here, and the audience is ecstatic about the return of Chanderi! The horror-comedy of director Amar Kaushik has once again hit the mark, and the reviews are mostly positive.
Do you recall the haunted "Stree" character from the first film? Well, this time, the story is reversed. The town is terrorized by a new evil entity named "Sarkata" and it is taking away women. The new film is a continuation of the story from the first one, thus, we see Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends dealing with the new menace.
The actors are the core of the film, and they all share the screen with power and command. Rajkummar Rao's quirky nature and comic timing are perfect. With Shraddha Kapoor, their chemistry is for the third time and still, it grows. The rest of the cast with the likes of good Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, offers the audience terrific comedic relief and unforgettable one-liners.
Stree 2 displays excellent skills in mixing different genres. It doesn’t force the move between very funny situations to scary moments, but does so very naturally, which is quite impressive.
Amar Kaushik's direction is very on point, he knows very well what a horror-comedy is all about. Also, the movie’s makeup and the camera work are top-notch to bring about that spooky vibe of Chanderi.
Some people might argue that the movie's tempo is somewhat too fast in particular scenes, but overall, the movie remains interesting throughout the whole duration of the film. The sequel is quite close to the original and bandages up well.Stree was your cup of tea?
Then next chapter is simply an eye candy you cannot skip! Four out of five is our final score!
