The episode opens with the entire Poddar household buzzing with preparations for the long-awaited Ghoomar ritual. Vidya takes the initiative by telling everyone to get ready and come bring their best spirit to the house. To ease the mounting tensions, Armaan opens a conversation with Vidya but she hardly responds. Kajal is approached by Abhira who is full of hope, and he encourages her to take part in the event as he also tries to repair the broken relationships in the family.
Kajal, caught between her emotions, assures of her presence but later on, imposes a condition that she will only be coming with her husband and children thus disclosing that she still harbors resentment for the house partition matter. The family members are trying to be upbeat but they still have a lot of old grudges and unresolved quarrels.
On the other hand, Abhir is plotting a strategy to make Kiara jealous. To that end, he hires a new manager and on that occasion, he showers praise on her. What he is aiming at is provoking a reaction from Kiara. Even though Kiara tries to ignore him, her uneasiness is quite visible. The lively competition between them serves as a lighter aspect of the family's troubles.
Armaan and Abhira plan with Kaveri and Manisha to get Kajal and Vidya together again. Abhira presents a ghoomar dress to Kajal selected by Myra, as he knew this would change her attitude. Kajal doubts and thinks that the offer is an emotional trap, but finally she consents. Aligning with this idea, Armaan also gives a gift to Vidya — some special socks picked by Myra and at the same time, he notices that there is a bruise on her foot. The two recall their past closeness and share a heartfelt moment, with Vidya reminiscing the time when after her marriage, it was Kajal who saved her life.
The mood escalates to anger and much more during the Ghoomar celebration. On the verge of falling, Kajal is saved by Vidya in a very dramatic moment. The event especially witnesses Vidya's self-sacrifice and as a result, moved, Kajal thanks her - it is a turning point in their relationship which has been very tense.
Upon returning, the atmosphere is notably different. Vidya is going through a lot of emotional distress, especially after being faced with Kajal's ambiguous behavior and her unresolved feelings. On the other hand, the family members wonder how profound these divisions are and what impact they might have on the future. There is a considerable sourness in Kaveri and Vidya's relationship, with Vidya charging Kaveri with love-phoning the family and Kaveri thinking of leaving the house as she is flustered.
The romantic tension between Abhir and Kiara is kept under wraps for now, however, most of the family members have to cope with the fall out of Vidya’s public outburst and Dadi’s heartbreak following the Ghoomar event.
Picking up on the episode’s final scene, Dadi, after Vidya's accusations, locks herself away in a state of despair and sends a message that the family is divided. Emotions mating on, Abhira and Armaan ask Dadi to let them in. The diya which is burning in the temple goes out, this is a symbol of the union which has been lost and the onset of a new upheaval for the Poddars. The family as a whole are anxious and not aware of what will come next.
