The heartfelt saga of Anupamaa sees friendships from the past and family feuds mixing together and pulling Anupama into the center of Mumbai's street battles. The episode starts at the dance academy where Preet and Bharti are tensed because of the absence of the team member Sarita.
Preet, out of her patience, tells that Sarita is not coming, but Anupama, the serene one, after all, intervenes, calling for calm and assuring that everything will be okay. As a matter of fact, Rajini, the politically successful friend from the childhood of Anupama, comes to the rescue.
Their meeting is like going back to the past: Rajini gives tamarind to Anupama and says it is the usual "bribe" for helping with the homework. They recall the fun of their school days, but Rajini's face changes to the serious one. She talks only to reveal an ordeal of her life: she married a politician who was shot, her son is following the father's footsteps, and a daughter is modelling for a future. Anupama agrees announcing her own struggle in Mumbai.
Rajini promises her support, and Anupama wonders if she can have her help to prevent the chawl from redevelopment. As the Kothari family resides, the drama that is there, could by no means be less. Raja is playing with money as he pleases, thus, a sharp conflict is ignited between him and Vasundhara and the family.
He is leaving the house in a fury, shouting for his freedom. On the other hand, Rahi and Mahi have a serious fight Rahi is determined not to be a servant, and she faces the taunt of mockingly being called illiterate by firing back. At the academy, Anupama is making a desperate appeal to Rajini to convince Sarita. Yes, she does appear, but enraged, she accuses Anupama of betraying her to Rajini.
As the debate for redevelopment gets more heated, Anupama does not cease to hope that her old friend will stand up for the residents. At the end of the episode, shocking news: during dance practice, Anupama is heavily criticized for providing "unhealthy" food to the girls.
