Masti 4 Review: The Naughty Trio Is Back, But Is This Adult Comedy Still Funny or Just Cringe?

Masti 4 Review: The Naughty Trio Is Back

Masti 4
has officially hit the screens today, bringing back the original "bad boys" of Bollywood adult comedy for yet another round of chaos. It has been over two decades since the first Masti (2004) changed the game for adult humour in India, and honestly, watching Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani together again feels like meeting old college friends who refuse to grow up. But does the formula still work in 2025? Let’s find out.

The Plot: Same Old Masti?

The story is exactly what you expect. Three frustrated husbands are bored with their lives and decide to find some "spark" outside their marriage. This time, the setting moves to a fancy cruise liner, where things go wrong (obviously). The jokes are wild, double-meaning, and strictly for the "front bencher" crowd.

Masti 4 release date , Trivia & Star Power

For those who love movie facts, here is some interesting trivia. Masti 4 was released on November 21, 2025, clashing at the box office with the war drama 120 Bahadur.

  • The Director: While the earlier hits were by Indra Kumar, this fourth installment is directed by Milap Zaveri, the man known for his punchy "dialoguebaazi" and massy writing.

  • The Cast: The OG trio—Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani—reprise their roles. It is actually impressive how they still have that perfect comic timing with each other after all these years.

  • New Entry: We also see the glitzy Nora Fatehi and Sunil Grover in key roles, adding some fresh flavour to the madness.

What Works (and What Doesn't)

The Good: The chemistry between the three leads is the saving grace. They know this genre inside out. Riteish Deshmukh, in particular, is a pro at making silly lines sound funny. If you leave your brain at home, there are a few laugh-out-loud moments.

The Bad: The humor feels a bit dated. In the age of clever memes and stand-up comedy, some of the WhatsApp-forward style jokes fall flat. The script relies too much on shock value rather than actual wit. Also, the "ghost" angle from the 3rd part is gone (thankfully), but the plot is still wafer-thin.

Verdict: Timepass or Skip?

If you grew up watching the Masti series and want a mindless "popcorn entertainer" this weekend, give it a shot. It is a guilty pleasure that doesn't pretend to be intelligent cinema. But if you are looking for logic, you are in the wrong theatre!

Rating: 3.5/5

Final thought: The boys are back, but maybe it is time they finally matured? Watch it strictly for the nostalgia and Riteish’s comic expressions.
