Notably, it’s a classic case of a mother’s love being weaponized against her, and it makes you feel so much for Anita in her final second.
Naturally, the episode winds down to a really heavy ending. With her last bit of strength, Anita makes Abhira promise to, actually, take care of little Vani and love her like her own mother. Abhira, being the person she is, sort of, gives her word through the tears.
Think about it this way: it’s such a massive responsibility to drop on someone’s shoulders so suddenly.
