In today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the story takes a heartbreaking and acute turn. The scene opens with a heavy emotional moment between Anita and Abhira where Anita, in her final moments, asks for a massive promise. She wants Abhira to ensure that her girl, Vani, never feels the absence of a mother's love.
Heartbroken, Abhira gives her word. Tragically, Anita breathes her last right after revealing a dark true and consuming poison. Without question, this leaves Abhira completely shattered and solitary with a heavy secret.
Importantly, small Vani enters the scene looking for her mother. She's innocent and unaware of the tragedy. She asks Abhira if she's scared of the dark and hands her a missive that Anita left behind.
The reality is: in the letter, Anita enquire Vani to always support smiling and tells her that from now on, she should look at Abhira as her mother. Vani is stunned and confused. Abhira, though hurting herself, amenities the little girl.
Interestingly, she state Vani that while her mother ever said crying is bad, today it is okay to let the tears flow. Meanwhile, at the Poddar house, a small omen creates tension. Myra's bracelet breaks, and she turn anxious that her family might break apart too.
Arman, ever the protector, comforts her. He promises to fix the watchstrap and reassures her that he and Abhira will ne'er let their household fall apart. But, he soon notices that Abhira is missing, and a sense of worry first to build in him.
When Abhira finally returns, she's overwhelmed by the true she discovered. In a sudden burst of anger, she slaps Meher and Mittal. Usually, she labels Meher a criminal and a murderer.
In a heated confrontation, Abhira reveals that Rajat was innocent. She exposes Meher for killing Rajat simply because she didn't receive a specific award. This revelation hits Arman like a lightning bolt.
He realizes that Rajat was falsely accused because of him, and the guilt becomes so unbearable that he briefly contemplates ending his life. Though, the drama shifts as we realize this intense confrontation was a reflection of Abhira's inner turmoil. Back in reality, Arman ask her where she was.
Abhira stands frozen, unable to find words. The situation stays tense as Vani is introduced to the family as the daughter of a friend. To keep things calm, Abhira encourages Myra to befriend Vani and share her toys and clothes, which Myra happily agrees to do.
The episode ends on a complex note. Abhira is carrying the weight of Meher's crimes alone, fearing that Arman won't be able to handle the truth. By keeping this arcanum, she power be inviting a storm into her own living.
Without question, as Vani starts her new life with the Poddars, viewers are left wondering how long this truth can remain hidden.
