The suspense filled third season of the spy thriller The Family Man is finally here on Prime Video. Nimrat Kaur, the most talked about new face of the series, is already creating waves! The popular actress in a recent interview, shared that it was purely exciting for her to imagine her new character Meera. To her, Meera was a bundle of attraction, danger and a thrillingly "unapologetic ruthlessness."
It is Kaur’s Meera who turns out to be the major new bad guy in the third episode of the highly successful spy-action saga, besides the return of Jaideep Ahlawat’s familiar villain, Rukma. They are both the antagonists against the good Samaritan played by Manoj Bajpayee, the brilliant intelligence officer, Srikant Tiwari.
Good actor Kaur, whose films like The Lunchbox and Airlift have been widely appreciated, offered a very different perspective of her character to PTI: “She is a bitter chocolate, character-wise delicious because she is impossible for a common person to... The fun of playing something like that is the flamboyance, the flair, and just the unapologetic ruthlessness that you can have fun with. It is just like intoxication.”
She wanted to share that her family, friends, and the public have never reacted so enthusiastic about any of her projects as they are here. Initially, she kept it to herself as she is a low-profile person. However, soon she realised there was a lot of buzz. “Later, I understood that I'm getting such a big reaction from everyone... So I started showing off,” she joked, calling The Family Man the most-awaited project of her career and a “matter of honour,” which she could finally talk about.
The actress further described the creators, Raj & DK, as the most talented when it comes to the depiction of the villains’ side of the story. According to Kaur, the show is great at presenting the antagonists as complex characters, which makes the audience wonder whether they should judge or pity them – a feature that she finds "therapeutic." The artist insisted that she never judges from the side of a negative character, discarding the labels of "good, bad, ugly," to dive deeper into the character and enjoy acting in the studio.
Moreover, the third season is bringing back old friends like Priyamani playing Suchi, the wife of Srikant Tiwari. Priyamani agreed with the show’s amazing realism, saying that her family and friends immediately recognized the authenticity of her playing. She indicated that the disputes and fights between Srikant and Suchi were so real that quite a few friends have contacted her saying, "This is the way we most probably argue with our family members."
Without a doubt, the actors—also including Sharib Hashmi, Ashlesha Thakur, Vedant Sinha, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Gul Panag—is regularly getting questions from fans, the most of which are for Priyamani. The most frequent questions? “Why did you cheat Srikant?” and the eternal mystery, “What really happened in Lonavala?” Priyamani, on the other hand, keeps her cool and doesn’t even tease whether Season 3 will finally reveal the answers to those obsessive fan questions!
