The conversation about the Dabangg series is so loud that it can be heard from afar. And now, there is a very big story, which could mean a major change in the creative side. Just after the day when Arbaz Khan, his brother, confirmed that the fourth part of the hugely successful series is in the pipeline, new information comes up to say that the superstar Salman Khan will direct the film. The information is not validated, but if this was the case, then it would be a drastic and astounding move of the actor.
The shock of this revelation is the timing when the Dabangg saga is caught in a storm of scandals. Director Abhinav Kashyap, the first film’s director, has charged Salman and his family with a lot of nasty things and that is why it is almost out of question that he returns for the next installment of the franchise.
Here is the summary of the directorial history: Abhinav Kashyap was at the helm of the first Dabangg, after that, Arbaaz Khan took the responsibility for the second, and Prabhu Deva directed the third.
Kashyap has made a series of shocking claims against Salman Khan. For example, he referred to the actor as "insecure" and even alleged that Salman twisted the knife by cutting his brother Arbaaz Khan's role in the original 2010 film completely.
While explaining the domestic troubles, Kashyap presented a very startling scenario in which he said that although Salman and Arbaaz "hate each other," they keep on living together and referred to them as a "very difficult family to understand." He specifically retold one occasion: "Salman used to come to my room at 1:30 in the morning. One day he came and saw the chase scene with Arbaaz in the film and he took it out completely. He has this thing called insecurity. He wanted to be seen".
However, Salman Khan did not respond to the charges directly but rather he gave an energetic rebuttal on one of the Bigg Boss 19 episodes. He told Kashyap to stop airing his grievances in public and instead focus on getting new work, asking him in Hindi, "Kaam mila kya bhai?" (Did you get work, brother?).
Besides that, Salman warned about the outcome of Kashyap’s wrongdoings inserting: “Those whom you are mentioning now will never work with you in the future. Even those who are close to them won’t work with you now.” The star further stated that they had once offered a film to Kashyap, which he declined.
The actor spoke out his disappointment by saying that he "felt bad" for Kashyap when he "destroyed himself," and then had him take his advice and be sensible. He said, "If I am giving you a piece of advice to think twice before speaking, I wish to see you grow, you are a man of great talent, and you write very well. Don't take this road. Get back on the highway." Also, he implied that Kashyap would be better off directing his own family, brother, and parents rather than being 'after a family.'
The fourth installment of the Dabangg series along with this huge scandal that keeps escalating and the potential of Salman Khan putting on the director's hat next year for the project are the only things that are still uncertain.
