Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Just Did the Impossible – ₹150 Crore collection in 5 Days! A Box Office Blockbuster

a high-octane action scene from Dhurandhar with Ranveer Singh

Imagine exiting a theater on a cold December night, your heart still pounding, and everyone around you is talking about the same thing. This is exactly what is happening all over India because of one movie – Dhurandhar.

The transformation of Ranveer Singh into a completely different character was the main highlight of the day. A raw, angry, highly-skilled Indian spy was what we saw. No fancy suits, no slow-motion walks – just pure adrenaline from the first scene. People who saw the morning shows were going out and saying, "Brother, this film is on another level." By the night, tickets of the following three days were completely sold out.

After five days, the story of the box office collection unfolded: ₹150 crore and still counting. Most of the big Christmas releases are slower than this. Even the trade experts who had predicted ₹80-90 crore are now silently retracting their predictions by deleting their tweets. On Sunday, BookMyShow was not working properly for two times in a row because 9,000 tickets were being sold every hour.

What makes it even more impressive is the competition that it had defeated. Dhanush's Tere Ishq Mein, which was considered the December's ruler, has now come to a halt at ₹105 crore. There is no doubt that the South re-releases like Padayappa are doing well but multiplexes in the North are almost empty with people flocking to Dhurandhar's screenings. Friends are deciding to miss the reunion only to catch the interval block again.

There is no deception in the support the movie gets from social media. College students are creating reels with the background score. Even people who are not used to watching Hindi films are saying, "Finally, a proper spy thriller from Bollywood." The best comment I came across was? "James Bond retired after watching this."

Fans are so eager that theaters have already started scheduling extra shows at 2 a.m. Small towns’ single-screen owners are advertising "Housefull till New Year" with hand-painted posters.

Ranveer has been pretty quiet, only one Instagram story: a salute emoji and "Thank you for the love." But the box office is louder than any interview.

If you are still holding off on watching the movie, then I wish you good luck in finding tickets this weekend. Dhurandhar is not only a film at the moment - it is the vibe of the whole country.
