The episode kicks off with a warm and lively Sanjhbati family scene as the people exchange gifts ahead of the Aashirwad ceremony of Dritimaan and Sanjhbati. Sanjhbati gives Aditi a richly wrapped gift box and urges her to open up her mind and talk with the family.
Aditi giving a polite but indifferent reply of "I’ll see" doesn’t go along with her idea. Curious about what she may get, Payal sees Sanjhbati and Dritimaan handing out gifts to everyone in the family. Dritimaan in a playful mood and with a twinkle in his eye, teases Surjeet that he (Dritimaan) knows Payal better than her husband, thus making the atmosphere a bit lighter.
However, Mishti in a deliberate manner questions Sanjhbati’s gift and sarcastically asks if that is all she got. Sanjhbati without losing her calm composure answered that she had bought only one gift for each individual but Mishti’s comments regarding Sanjhbati’s income went way too far.
Dritimaan comes to the rescue and does so in a firm manner by asking Mishti to say sorry while Rishi also rebukes her for being rude. Mishti exasperated, retorts that she would not want any gift if it came with a scene.
The mood changes Putul carrying Jhanak in the room. Seeing this Sanjhbati makes sure that Aditi is there as she has not yet given the gift to Rishi. She picks out a costly saree for Jhanak, but Jhanak is somewhat reluctant to take it thinking that it is too much.
After Sanjhbati’s gentle insistence, however, Jhanak feels obliged and thanks both of them. It is Rishi who then surprises everyone by revealing his gifts—thoughtful presents for Dritimaan and Sanjhbati. Aditi spots an extra box of gifts and takes it to be for Mishti but Rishi clarifies that it is for Jhanak.
Explaining, he says that Jhanak doesn’t have many clothes, that’s why he thought of gifting her a saree. Aditi’s mood turns from cheerful to gloomy. She snaps at Rishi sarcastically telling him to buy more things for Jhanak and at the same time implying that he is neglecting his own wife.
Rishi who is hurt by her manner of speaking, asserts that he has every right to give gifts to anyone in the family. Feeling uneasy, Jhanak declines the saree offer and insists that she never asked for it. She even goes as far as suggesting giving it to Mishti but the latter coolly rejects the idea. With Sanjhbati's prompting, Jhanak ultimately takes the present to which Rishi responds with a warm smile.
The following day Dritimaan and Sanjhbati’s Aashirwad ceremony sees the family coming together. Welcome to everybody is given by Dadabhai and Kaka, who cannot hide their delight. Warm hugs accompany Aniruddh and Arshi entrance to the scene and it’s Aditi they hug.
Arshi offers the pair very nice watches but Dritimaan politely declines the offer saying it’s not necessary. Aniruddh in a teasing manner says good food is what guests take away in their memory and Abhimanyu thanks him for bringing the best caterer to town.
As event progresses, Jhanak suddenly leaves scene; looking absolutely gorgeous in her brand-new saree. Neelu cannot hold back her words that Jhanak is like a real member of the family. At the same time, Rishi while moving bump into Jhanak and saving her from falling.
They share a fleeting but intense glance. Rishi quietly telling her how he wishes she could be like that always. Aditi seeing this enters the room and totally misunderstanding the scene, she accuses Rishi of being too close to Jhanak. Jhanak in a jiffy explains that she just slipped but Aditi remains suspicious.
In the kitchen, a waiter serves Jhanak with a food tray and after that, he closes the door. Out there, the event goes on with the elders giving their blessings to Dritimaan and Sanjhbati. Arshi presents Sanjhbati with a necklace and Aditi helps her put it on. But the happy moment gets interrupted when Rishi smelling smoke spots the source in the kitchen.
At the end of the episode, we see Rishi and the family full of anxiety, rushing towards the kitchen to see if Jhanak is alright.
