The episode begins with Jhanak leaving the police station. Although the crowd was whispering, she showed no sign of it and walked out with her head held high. Only yesterday, she had gone to the police and told them again that she did not steal the jewellery.
She admitted having lied to protect Rishi’s job and now, she was intent on proving her innocence. When the officers asked her for suspects, she only indicated the person who had accused her and advised them to find out more.
While Jhanak was exiting the premises, Rishi came. His eyes were full of relief as well as concern. Aniruddh was there with Jhanak and on seeing Rishi, he said it with a wink that she was free only because of him.
But Rishi didn’t pay any attention to it and trusted that it was Jhanak’s innocence that had saved her. Sanjh and Driti also came to see her and were like a small ray of sunshine in the dark tempest that surrounded her.
On the other hand, Misti was losing her mind. She told Neelu and her mother that her fingerprints were found on the jewellery and she was scared of being unmasked. Neelu tried to calm her down by telling Misti that her brother, who is an SP, would be her protector. But Misti was still of the opinion that Jhanak is the one whom everyone loves.
At the college café, Ayush informed Jhanak about the spreading of rumors regarding her theft. Jhanak said it didn’t matter to her what people thought. When they were about to leave for class, Misti and her friends came and surrounded Jhanak. One of them mocked her and asked why she steals jewellery if she does not wear it. The words hurt, but Jhanak kept her calm and didn’t allow them to break her by their harshness.
At Sanjh’s house, her family was having a serious discussion with Driti. They asked about his plans—whether he would return to the US or stay in Kolkata. Driti told them he plans to stay in Kolkata and Sanjh’s family shocked everyone by proposing the idea of Sanjh and Driti’s marriage. A quiet hope filled the room with both Sanjh and Driti exchanging looks, not sure but not unwilling either.
The worst comes later. Aditi, known for her bluntness, in no way holding back, shamed Jhanak publicly in front of everybody. Her speech was like arrows, and they hit the mark. Jhanak stood there, taking it, not giving her own. The place was full of silence and it was quite obvious that Aditi’s rage was much more than simply the case of theft accusations.
The episode ended with Jhanak leaving the scene, her quietness conveying more than any debate. The effect of Aditi’s words was still there, but so was her strength. The public is not sure as to how long Jhanak can take these blows and what she will do when she finally snaps.
